Heat Transfer

The most important source of heat: our Sun.

The lack of heat is a very serious concern. What happens during nigh? How sun transmit its powerful energy through the space? Is this conduction of heat? or Convection? Non of these, its

radiation.

Everywhere every time we are transmitting energy from one side to other. How about getting exercise, your body energy excess is realased to ambient by sweating evaporation.
Industry generates heat exchange even unintentionally, the best efficiency electric motor has a performance of 95% than means that 5% of all its power transforms in heat.

Heat
conduction

The most simple way to transfer heat energy is using conduction, this only occurs if the source and the body to heat are in contact physically.

In every car, when you press brake pedal you are transforming kinetic energy to heat. The brake pads generate heat by friction but is the brake rotor that gets really hot.

Heat Convection & Radiation

When a fluid and space is between the heat source and the mass to be heated, then another phenomena takes place: Radiation and convection.

Radiation is a very interesting way of transmission that works even if there is a vacuum space in between. No material carrier is needed. This case of study is not easy to understand.

Heat
Exchangers

Very commonly used by industry, this devices transfer heat from one fluid to other without mixing their flows. The image corresponds to a shell and tube two steps exchanger, but you could use plate exchanger type too.

One interesting kind are evaporators or condensation where fluid changes its phase realising high flux of heat.
